Introductory Workshop

Getting started

The Introductory Workshop provides information to help mothers, fathers and other family carers in the early days of their journey.

•    Learn about Autism Spectrum Disorder and what it means for your child and your family.
•    Learn practical strategies that can make a difference to your child’s development.
•    Learn how to choose therapies and get the most out of services.

The one day workshop gives you the opportunity to meet other mothers, fathers and family carers and share ideas and experiences.

You might find it easier to attend an online workshop. The Early Days Introductory workshop has been divided into three two-hour Online Workshops.

Supporting CALD families

  • Early Days Introductory Workshop – Translations

The Early Days Introductory workshop is also available in five community languages:
Vietnamese, Arabic, Chinese (traditional), Turkish and Korean.
These workshops are delivered by bilingual facilitators to local communities.

  • Autism and my Community

This workshop focuses on reducing the stigma and isolation that many families who have a child with an ASD can experience. It explores community understanding of ASD and assists mothers, fathers and other family carers to identify community members who can support them. The workshop also provides information about community services that can support families and early intervention services that can help their child. Workshop participants also have the opportunity to connect and share with other families from their community who have a child with an ASD.
