World Autism Awareness Day

World Autism Awareness Day 2009

Today all over the world the World Autism Awareness Day message is promoting positive perceptions and public understanding of autism.

Designated by the United Nations General Assembly, this is the second annual World Autism Awareness Day, and people everywhere are getting involved by giving time, money or even just spreading the word. The day involves everything from public lectures and exhibitions to rock concerts and media events in over 20 countries.

We are delighted to be part of this celebration, as today, 2 April 2009, we officially launch the Early Days workshops program. Read more about the Early Days launch.

The Early Days program is about supporting mothers, fathers and carers of children on the Autism Spectrum. A key part of this is spreading the message that children and people with Autism can lead full and meaningful lives.

At Early Days, we strongly believe that community awareness is the backbone of support for people with Autism, so we join the many in celebrating World Autism Awareness Day 2009, and look forward to many more to come!
